Visiting family in the mountains of the bellissimo Parco Nazionale del Cilento e Vallo di Diano, in Campania, Italy.
I’m Rosemary Volpe. My career has been a journey in both art and science. Broad experience as an editor, illustrator, designer, and project manager informs my editorial services.
In a 28-year career as a one-person department for publications at Yale University’s Peabody Museum, I produced exhibition catalogues, academic journals, research monographs, conference proceedings, annual reports, and newsletters. I edited and designed print and digital content for membership materials, event programming, websites, gallery labels, and interpretive content.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, I graduated from Barnard College at Columbia University in New York City with a degree in anthropology and archaeology. I have worked as a freelance natural science illustrator, art instructor, desktop publisher, production manager, journal managing editor, and rights coordinator.
My current learning journey is as a gardening enthusiast spreading the word in Connecticut on native species and local sustainability.
I welcome opportunities that communicate science, art, and history to diverse audiences.
My certificates
- Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing, and Certificate in Accurate, Audience-focused Editing
- Botanical Art & Illustration, New York Botanical Garden
